An entrepreneur will say that his or her brand name is a living, breathing organism with a set of attributes attached to it in the real world that we inhibit, like a personal extension of their own lives. Of course, values like these are intangible, yet they exist.

As humanity marches on and on towards the unknown, a majority of it remains apprehensive, for it’s the fear of the unknown, and one’s own unfamiliarity and a feeling of not being in control of their own destinies, that makes all sorts of people afraid and more likely to remain with the status quo. Short-term pain is more or less a permanent fixture, an ever-present thorn on humanity’s road map to nowhere.

Amidst all this, entrepreneurs ought to be the most and less afraid people on the earth at the same time. On one hand, they need to be ever optimistic and constantly believe in the worth of their dreams, while on the other they have a constant feeling of being on the verge of losing it all in a few moments. The impact of this on one’s psyche can be extreme.

Today, at Bangalore Insider, we spoke with Vaibhav Bhasin, the founder of Statice Tech, a venture that seeks to make the best use of available internet of technology solutions, and quite possibly, could build an integrated platform by including an array of digital marketing services. Below are the excerpts from our interaction.

Give a brief info about your startup?

Statice Tech is the parent company and the vision behind the brand STATICE.
Statice empowers businesses through it’s solutions. We have divided the business into two verticals Statice Tech and Statice Media.

Under Statice Tech we provide an array of products and solutions related to IoT(Internet of Things), Biometric Time-Attendance & Access control, RFID, Cybersecurity and  POS (point of sales).

Under Statice Media we provide digital marketing services like social media marketing, website design, blog & content creation, video personalization, search engine optimization and smartphone app development.

What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?

Always wanted to have my own venture. Always loved the excitement and challenges of creating something on your own from scratch and being responsible for yourself.
After quitting my job in Dec 2018, I gave myself 4 months of break before deciding what to do next. Social Media was always something that I loved. I did a few online courses, spoke to a few friends in the same business and decided to venture into it.
Having a technology background myself, the love for emerging technologies was always there.  Hence the idea to provide solutions based on latest tech came about.

What I have observed in the industry is that the customer is always searching for the right solution to fill the blind spots in the business. What the customer is currently finding in the market is either too complex or too expensive- not providing a right fix for his requirement.
Whether it is our technology or media wing, both help in clearing this hurdle by providing suitable solutions  to the client.

Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?

After completing my Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Science from VTU in the year 2015 , the choice was to take up a hardcore programming job at IBM or a job involving analytics at Amazon Web Services. The thought of going in for my own venture was also ripening in my mind all this while. However I decided to go for the job at AWS and  worked 3 years for the Risk Investigation team before venturing out on my own .

Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?

Based out of Bangalore. It is the start-up capital of India , easily available resources and like minded people. It has also been my home for the last 20 years.

As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?

Night is the time when my creative juices get flowing, and I think of brand marketing campaigns for clients, what new services can I add onto my platform. Above all being a startup – I think of how to get in more business to support my venture and my team.

Who are your competitors and how are you better than them?

Digital Marketing is a growing space where a lot of young creative minds are working. I realised the need for a cost-effective solution to target the mid level organisations, restaurants and startups with effective marketing strategies.
In the Tech space , from day one we have believed in integrating modern technologies and offering as a complete bouquet to our customers.

Our concept is to provide cost-effective solutions to help every business grow , without burning a hole in their pockets.

How hard is it to have a work-life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?

A couple of years back, I read “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey. The book really helped me in understanding the importance of planning. I spend Sunday evenings planning & prioritising for the week ahead and have been able to maintain a great work-life balance because of that.

Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you are looking to raise.

I have not raised any funding and currently operating out of my savings.

What gets you excited about this company?

The process of creating innovative campaigns for my clients, learning about new technologies and establishing partnerships with people all over the World.

Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.

Start the day off at 6:30 am with some light weights, boxing, reading and green tea. Finish my breakfast and checking mails by 10am. Post that, I get down to starting work on Media campaigns. At around 1pm , I have a meeting with my Media team over video call to discuss existing business, deadlines and potential new businesses. Post lunch around 3pm I start work on Tech. Finish off the day by 8pm by taking a few calls and planning for the next day with my team. Finish off with dinner, spend time with my family and watch TV before hitting the bed by 11:00 pm.

Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?

The Media team consists of my younger brother Vidyut, a childhood friend, an ex-colleague from Amazon and a couple other people within my network.
Have tried to keep our core team small and love to work with freelancers and handshake with other start-ups.

The Tech team has another friend of mine, a senior engineer who helps us design our solutions and a couple of developers who recently came on board.

My Dad and Grandad are onboard to help us with their experience in guiding us to manage and grow the business.
