We got an opportunity to talk with Prashanth, the founder of HappieTap and Let’s look at his journey as an entrepreneur and see how he is working hard to achieve his dreams. I am sure his story will inspire you.
Give a brief info about your startup?
HappieTap is On-Demand Home Services booking platform. It provides the flexibility to book various home services like cleaning, gardening, handyman, electrical, computer repair, mobile car wash, Housecleaning, Laundry, Home Appliance repair, Wall painting & Tattoo artist services online in the comfort of your home, at the time of your convenience and at fixed, upfront & competitive rates. Simply relying on search engines and classifieds is pot-luck at best and who knows who you’re really letting into your home or garden. HappieTap- “Your Fulfillment is our satisfaction“.
What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?
As this universe come from nowhere my idea also come from nowhere when I was trying to find a plumber to fix a leaking Tap at my home, felt difficult to find. Then I realized that getting in touch with a home service provider like a plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc. are not so easy who live in the urban city. This is how everything started and our main motto is to reach each and every one who needs a service not happen what hifi area or balli we will be focused on satiating the customer.
“HappieTap” have made it easy by doing all the legwork for you. We ensure that every “HappieTap” Super Heroes representative is background checked, certified and insured. In addition, we have a rating system that allows you to rate the performance and provide feedback for each of our Super Heroes once they have completed the job. Nothing is left to chance; you can even book the same super hero each time depending on availability.
Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?
This is Prashanth I have my schooling in khoday primary and high school in Bangalore completed diploma in computer science in 2010 and joined BE in SBJIT, Due to some problem discontinued my graduation. Coming to my work experience, started working with tikona digital PVT Ltd as field executive for collection team and I was a 2nd topper in first month, later joined SLK global service for international process didn’t satisfice working in night shift, here comes next company , joined concentrix technologies Pvt Ltd. as a CSE in aug’2013 in 1 year become a assistant TL and resigned my job in feb’2016, my last company is Supertron electronics Pvt Ltd designated as MIS analyst .
Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?
Happietap is completely based in Bangalore, Bangalore is a natural habitat for genius techies. With its identity as the Silicon Valley of India, it is no doubt that the startups which lean more toward science and technology find this city a haven. The city right now is bustling with the youth outshining themselves in every field owing to the welcoming nature of the city toward young talent from across the country. The growth of the city as a tech hub has gone a long way in influencing the work culture in these offices. From flexible work timings to additional support provided by the employers for enabling better performance of employees, Bengaluru is the dream-city for anybody who wants to enter as startup.
As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?
As a founder of Happietap – On demand home services, there are many service-based companies like us, as a startup, I was paranoid towards taking decision on many things like finding reliable vendors. many things keep me awake whole night like, how to satisfy the customer and vendor, as we are service oriented it our responsibility to satisfy both customer and vendor. How to implement new things which other venture doesn’t do, what new things going around us, what peoples are looking hard to find. finally, mainly I think a lot to expanding the business in other parts of India, where people will get best services.
Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?
In Bangalore there are the lot of competitions, mainly our competitions are urbanclap, housejoy, bro4u, timesaverz and mrright. We always think and do in a different way to make sure we are best. Right from partnering with vendor till the customer service .its our responsibility nothing goes wrong in customer place by vendors so we do all background verification before becoming a partner. We don’t focus only IT people its our moto our service should reach to everyone even in balli. We provide service as earliest compared to other competitions.
How hard is it to have a work life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?
As a startup it was bit hard for me to balance work life handling each and everything at the beginning , later on I learned how to manage things in easier way , scheduling the things made me to accomplish the day to day work on time and dedicated software made things get easier for me.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?
None, every got wrong feedback yet.
What gets you excited about this company?
Each and everything I start a new startup, this makes to keep calm and I get excited in a lot of things every day, each customer is valuable to us. Sometimes we get job which we doesn’t do. Like customized tape printing but still we will never say no to any customer, still does lot of things like this.
Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.
Entrepreneur life is different when we compare to others, my schedule starts the early morning at 7 Am and ends at 11 Pm many times extended till next day morning. Every night I will go through my next day schedule and I will write in down in a plain paper, so I will remember the same in next day. 1. Checking customer request 2. Preparing quote to customer 3.assignig vendor 4. Scheduling time with customer 5. Auditing 6. Billing 7.Feedback from customer 8.EOD review meets with a vendor.
Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?
As we are startup we don’t have a big team, as if now we have 5 member team and approx. 40 vendors in Bangalore, each 1 of us have their own responsibilities towards work. 3 of us from school and 2 others my office colleagues. It took lot of time for me to understand the unique talent from each, finally after the analyze towards they talent I made them work together.
